Orthopaedic requirements

Orthosis

• when sitting the hand should rest on a cushion

• in a wheelchair the hand should be supported by an
   armrest, with the shoulder somewhat abducted,
   turned outwards, elbow slightly bent

• wrist should be straight and fingers relaxed

• position should cause shoulder joint to be abducted
   and prevent weakening and tension in the shoulders

Important information:

In order to achieve an optimum sitting position and to counteract wrong and possibly harmful posture, ask your doctor or physiotherapist about the optimum adjustment for your body before using the orthosis!
